Job Description

Position Summary:
At Kisco Senior Living, the role of a graphic designer involves crafting visual narratives that captivate, inform, and motivate. This talented individual must be able to transform concepts and ideas into compelling visuals across both print and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will possess advanced proficiency in contemporary design software and excel in every stage of the design process, from conception to final product. Working closely with the Creative Manager and Home Office Marketing Managers, the graphic designer will translate verbal or written concepts into visually striking designs that resonate with our audience.
Collaboration with the Creative Manager is paramount, ensuring that designs align seamlessly with Kisco Senior Living's branding and messaging standards. Together, they will craft engaging designs for various marketing channels, including advertising, direct mail, websites, digital marketing, and promotional materials. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to bolster marketing campaigns, drive lead generation, and meticulously monitor ROI and budgetary allocations.

• Role model Kisco Principles, Values and Beliefs (PVBs) inside and outside of the Home Office and/or community. Utilize PVBs in all actions, decisions, and interactions with others.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships and two-way communication with residents and families or associates. Approach all encounters with residents, families, and associates in a friendly, professional and customer-service oriented manner.

 

What will I do Every Day?:
• Utilize a diverse array of software programs to execute a broad spectrum of projects, crafting innovative graphic designs aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with the Home Office Creative/Marketing team to ensure designs adhere to organizational standards, accurately convey ideas, and reflect the essence of Kisco communities.
• Demonstrate autonomy while also fostering teamwork within the marketing team, effectively managing deadlines, budgets, and project schedules, even amidst a workload comprising ten or more simultaneous projects.
• Analyze current processes to identify inefficiencies and devises solutions to enhance design capabilities.
• Maintain and update internal databases for designs, photography, and video content to ensure accessibility and organization.
• Engage in creative briefs alongside the Creative Manager/Home Office Marketing Team to initiate projects, whether through conference calls with communities or meetings with development teams.
• Collaborate closely with the internal Home Office Marketing Team to devise creative concepts that align with the organization's business objectives and reinforce our brand strategy.
• Utilize both existing marketing materials and develops new projects requested by Kisco communities and internal Home Office departments.

• Gather essential event/promotion details from the Creative Manager and Home Office Marketing Team to prepare and conceptualize the work to be accomplished.
• Adjust design focus according to specific community directives provided by the Creative Manager and Home Office Marketing Team.
• Maintain an updated production schedule, ensuring awareness of current project statuses.
• Coordinate the submission of print materials to media sources, communities, publishers, and printers.
• Collaborate with external agencies, art services, printers, etc., as needed for project execution.
• Manages corporate and community logos, ensuring brand integrity and compliance with Kisco style and brand guidelines.
• Update the Canva portal regularly by populating it with the latest pre-designed InDesign templates and addressing any troubleshooting needs.
• Participate in team strategy sessions to better understand our customers and create materials that meet existing and future lead generation requirements.
• Take part in weekly marketing creative sessions to discuss current projects and share marketing ideas, inspirations, and new ideas.
• Know and understand Kisco’s Principles, Values, and Beliefs (PVB’s) and uses them to guide all actions and decisions, including interactions with others.
• Undertake additional responsibilities and assignments as assigned, designated or necessary, which may encompass activities such as creating corporate presentations and training materials, developing materials for new projects, crafting corporate collateral, and initiating the launch of new programs.

 

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) preferably in Graphic Design or Art.
• 1-3 years of experience in professional Graphic Design, preferably with a creative or marketing agency.
• Proficiency with design software, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, with 1-3 years of experience (academic and professional).
• Preferred related work experience in hospitality, Senior Living, culinary arts, and healthcare industries.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent written and oral business communication skills, along with interpersonal and presentation abilities.
• Capable of presenting data, designs, and conclusions in a clear, organized, and concise manner to individuals at all levels within the organization and external contacts.
• Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills and knowledge of pre-press production.
• Familiarity with Canva application.
• Possesses a strong work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, and effective time-management abilities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, demanding environment with multiple priorities, all geared towards achieving business goals.
• Must possess the ability to work both independently, and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Must be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop and have a working knowledge of four-color printing process.

• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software such as Photoshop and Lightroom is required.
• Openness to taking creative direction.
