Job Description

The Medication Technician / Certified Nurses Aid / PCA @ The Cardinal at North Hills is responsible for the delivery of quality care by encouraging independence and ensuring each resident’s physical, social, cultural, and intellectual well-being.

 

 

 

Medication Tech / Medication Aide (w/CNA or PCA certification)

 

CNA & PCA (must have 80 HR PCA course or NC CNA certification)

 

 

Full Time  - 2nd & 3rd shift

Paid Vacation / Sick Time /  7 Paid Holidays

Part Time all shifts! Every other Weekend

 

(plus 1 to 2 additional shifts per week based on your schedule)

 

 

 

 

Total Pay Range $15/hr - $20/hr  **based on certififctaions & experience

Paid Vacation / Free Meal each shift 

 

  • PCA: must be able to provide certificate of completion for 80 hour training course
  • CNA: must be licensed in North Carolina verifiable through online registry
  • MT: must be able to provide certificate of completion of 10-hour and 5-hour or 15-hour Medication Technician Certification course, must be a licensed Medication Tech verifiable through online registry

 

 

What will I do every day as a MT? $18-$20

  • Observe residents for any changes in condition and report to supervisor
  • Assist residents with simple requests as needed
  • Document and report changes of condition
  • Provide medication set up and assistance
  • Log in medications from pharmacies, verify physician’s orders and communicate any concerns
  • Track all medications and re-order as needed
  • Track residence vital signs, diabetic testing and/or insulin injection, ambulation, etc.

 

What will I do every day as a CNA/PCA? $15-$18

  • Assist residents with simple requests as needed
  • Supervise or assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, ambulation and other activities
  • Provide companionship and develop strong resident relations
  • Respond to emergencies according to policies and procedures
  • Document care provided to residents consistent 
  • Provide input to assure that resident individual service plans are current
  • Review 24 hour report and care check lists regularly

 

 

What will I need to be successful in this role?

  • High school education or GED equivalent preferred
  • Nursing assistant course completion

 

Special Requirements/Certifications I may need?

  • First Aid certification and CPR, if required
  • Must meet state training requirements and/or certifications
  • Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA)
  • PCA if required

Special Requirements/Certifications I may need?

  • Must be 21 years of age (or meet state requirements)
  • Have current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Have completed the required training, and/or certification (according to state) for assisting with medications
  • CNA if required by state
