The Fountains is hiring an HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration.
What will I do every day?
- Assist each assigned community in complying with human resources related company policies, as well as all applicable federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
- Works with each community management team to carry out Associate file audits
- Attends and helps to plan All Staff and CMT meetings
- Ensures that consistent processes/polices are implemented across communities
- Supports Associates and managers with all human resources practices and programs
- As needed, assist hiring managers (and Recruiter) with posting of open positions, screening of resumes, assisting with the group interview process and coordination of other interviews
- Partners with Recruiter to coordinate all pre-employment requirements
- Manages post-hire procedures for all assigned communities that includes “first day essential” process and onboarding for new associate orientation program
- Coordinate associate training programs and maintain training records
- Coordinate and support all appropriate associate termination procedures; submit for approval of involuntary terminations to Sr HR Supervisor
- Work with Supervisor and Executive Director, as appropriate, to investigate, appropriately address, and resolve Associate grievances and complaints
- Monitor and respond to unemployment claims
- Work with Supervisor and Executive Director to handle workers’ compensation claims
- Coordinate all leaves of absence with Supervisor and Executive Director as necessary in accordance with applicable policies and laws
- Communicate, coordinate and assist associates with benefits (including OE) and recognition programs
- Responsible for the accuracy of associate data within HRIS system
- Responsible for ensuring that all supervisors manage and approve all timecard accurately and on-time
- Distribute paychecks and conduct self-audits as appropriate
- Manage the recruitiment and hiring process
- Other duties as assigned
What will I need to be successful in this role?
- A passion for excellence
- BS/BA degree with course work in business, human resources, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years of Human Resources generalist experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of computers/applications including Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
- Basic competency in the use of multiple forms of technology, including: Microsoft Office applications, internet-based and custom applications
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of state and federal employment regulations and best practices
Special Requirements and/or Certifications:
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM CP or SHRM SCP certification preferred
