The Memory Care Manager is responsible for passionately promoting a healthy, activity-enriched lifestyle within the Heirloom Memory Care program. Direct, coordinate, and facilitate services,
programs and Art of Living Well engagements provided by the staff for the residents within Memory Care, ensuring exemplary service delivered with integrity, dignity and compassion.
Responsible for the delivery of quality service by encouraging independence and ensuring each resident’s physical, social, cultural, and intellectual well-being.
Schedule: Full Time Tues.-Sat 10a-6:30p
Pay: $65,000-$75,000
What will I do every day?
- Effectively lead the Heirloom Memory Care departmental operations on a day-to-day basis underthe direction of the Care Services Director, Director of Nursing, Assistant Executive Director or Assistant General Manager.
- Collaborate with key interdepartmental leaders including all Community Management Team members and others
- Actively host, coordinate and support Heirloom Memory Care Program including Art of Living Well engagements that meet the needs and preferences of the residents
- Host and oversee training of Heirloom Memory Care associates and provide training as needed on dementia and Heirloom-related topics to associates in and outside the department
- Champion residents’ personhood, biographies and abilities
- Work with families and associates to ensure availability of current resident biographies: interests, joys, history, interventions
- Identify, deploy, and teach interventions for behavioral expressions – interventions that are customized to the particular resident, emphasizing holistic approaches purpose, programming and identifying possible triggers to avoid.
- Monitor residents and evaluate residents regularly and assess levels of care whenever there is a change in condition and/or to determine whether a resident is no longer appropriate for the setting, collaborating with the Assisted Living Director or Care leader as required or needed.
- Assist residents with simple requests as needed or find appropriate associate to assist
- Learn resident preferences for opportunities to provide exemplary customer service,
exceed resident expectations, maximize resident abilities and enhance resident and
family satisfaction - Responsible for overall administration and management of the Heirloom Memory Car
What will I need to be successful in this role?
- Degree or certification in health services, social services or engagement /activities / recreation therapy; or related experience
- One to three years’ experience working in senior care, with experience working with persons living with dementia or related conditions or special groups, or engagement / activities / recreation therapy
- Management or supervisory experience preferred.
Special Requirements/Certifications I may need?
- Must have or be able to obtain the appropriate state license required by law
- CPR Certified
- Qmap minimum certifcation
