The Director of Hospitality Services is a subject matter expert in high-end hospitality inspired customer service and programming. This position will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the services, amenities, and resident experiences at Kisco’s Community portfolio to meet the evolving needs and expectations of our customers.
This a remote position with frequent travel up to 50% travel. Must live, or be willing to relocate, to one of the following locations: Washington, DC; Raleigh, NC; Boston, MA, Southern California, Bay Area California, Denver metro.
What will I do every day?
- Implement strategies to enhance hospitality services across our Communities, with specific focus on front desk, concierge, and valet operations.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in both the hospitality and senior living programming and services and apply relevant knowledge to improve our offerings.
- Conduct thorough assessments of our Community hospitality services and programming to identify areas for improvement, efficiency, and innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and other operational team leads and subject matter experts, to ensure seamless integration of hospitality services throughout the organization.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key industry partners, vendors, and consultants to stay informed about new developments and to leverage external expertise when necessary.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to operational teams to ensure consistent implementation of high-quality hospitality services and programming.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff members involved in delivering resident facing services, including concierge, wellness, and culinary departments.
- Conduct regular audits and evaluations to measure performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop and implement strategies for promoting and showcasing our hospitality services to prospective residents and their families.
- Drive process and continuous improvement.
- Promote open communication with and between the home office and other KSL communities at all levels.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships and two-way communication with associates and Executive Director. Approach all encounters with residents, families, and associates in a friendly, professional and customer-service oriented manner.
What will I need to be successful in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, senior living, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience of at least 3-5 years in hospitality management, preferably in senior living, hotels, or resorts.
- Deep knowledge of the senior living industry, including current trends, challenges, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of hospitality service standards.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to envision and implement innovative solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and hospitality management software.
- Willingness to travel as required to visit different senior living communities and attend industry conferences.
- Communicates effectively in both written and verbal form.
